THE OPPORTUNITY:
Macildowie are recruiting for an expanding Manufacturing and Construction business based in South Derbyshire. Our client has a requirement for an immediately available Interim Business/Financial Controller (Management Accountant) to join their team on an on going basis with the potential for the role to go Permanent after 6 months
THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Business Controller and Construction Manager, you will be required to work closely with the Construction area of the business.
Primarily responsible for the completion and improvement of full month end routines including the monthly reporting pack, profitability reports with a special emphasis on analysing profitability and margins.
· Focus also on month end, forecasting and year end accounting.
· Budgets / Forecasts (Construction)
· Month end reconciliations
· Tax report (quarterly), tax pack is annually.
· VAT
· Audit preparations / workpapers
· Overhead control (Construction Business)
· Margin Analysis (Construction)
· Fixed Asset register
· Petty Cash Control.
Some travel may be required to offsite locations – Pool car available
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· Ideally be AAT qualified and currently studying CIMA, ACCA or ACA
· Previous manufacturing, construction or engineering industry experience.
· Experience of working in a team driven environment an advantage.
· A methodical and organised approach to all work and projects.
· Business awareness and a clear understanding of Company objectives

You must be available at short notice and have very strong systems skills, in particular Excel.
