THE OPPORTUNITY:
Macildowie are currently recruiting an excellent opportunity for a Buying Manager to join a leading FMCG business located in Staffordshire.
THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a pivotal role where you will directly manage 2-3 direct reports.
· Category Management of designated area (drinks)
· Negotiate supply contracts that maximise purchasing benefits
and deliver against our budgeted targets
· Responsible for suppliers and managing the supplier relationship
· Lead supplier negotiations
· Control and manage any supplier rebates
· Deliver the budgeted margin for you category area (drinks) through
effective pricing strategy
· Execute through your team and maintain the process for ensuring
that all pricing falls into the defined price bands
· Implement the most effective drinks range
· Lead, manage coach and mentor your team to deliver against
your objectives
· Understand new market trends, supplier insight and business
requirements
· Manage the interface between marketing, commercial teams
and suppliers
EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Essential:
- Previous Buyer experience working for a multiple retailer
- Can demonstrate strong experience of category management
- Experience in managing across multiple product categories
- Graduate calibre
- Strong negotiation skills and success dealing with blue-chip suppliers
- Strong communication skills
