Macildowie are currently working in partnership with Alliance Boots to recruit a Category Manager to manage Property and Construction spend across the group.
Group Procurement’s role within Alliance Boots is to drive the right balance between cost and quality of all non-resale products and services, ensuring that they always deliver value for money for their cross functional business stakeholders. The team has been highly successful in leading business change and has delivered significant profit growth to the business.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be a key member of the Goods Not For Resale Procurement team; accountable for leading your category strategy, driving the Procurement agenda across the business, delivering a Programme of work and leading a team.
You will be responsible for construction projects including the fit out of new stores and the building or refurbishment of warehousing facilities.
• Lead, develop, own and take personal responsibility for the category strategy for a portfolio of products and services with an annual spend of up to £ 150m per year across the Alliance-Boots Group.
• Lead Group Procurement activities which helps build a stronger team, allowing the business to become category and supplier lead and supports the business strategy whilst providing professional expertise and commercial focus to the various businesses across the Alliance-Boots Group.
• Lead and undertake complex, high value Strategic Sourcing activities for category responsibilities across the Alliance-Boots Group.
• Project manage the work streams in the Category Strategy to ensure successful delivery
• Lead complex projects from concept through to completion. Project value would typically have a benefit of £500K-£5M.
• Shape the category strategy by building effective relationships with Executive Level stakeholders and additionally, specify, test and where possible challenge the business requirements in their category areas to ensure value for money by balancing cost v's service.
• Identify value creation opportunities for Alliance Boots and build compelling business cases to support Category Strategy and ensure Senior Stakeholder support.
• Lead negotiations, selection and contracting of business with strategically important suppliers with substantial annual spend (£5-60m per year).
• Develop and manage new and existing suppliers of products and services to ensure performance of the contracts and to drive maximum value from these relationships.
