    As a accounts administrator, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential support to the Finance team, covering both purchase ledger and sales ledger responsibilities. Your role will encompass the following key accountabilities:

    • Oversee the Accounts Payable inbox, involving coding, processing, and reconciling supplier statements
    • Process Credit Card expenditures and maintain precise control over staff expenses
    • Support the Management Accountant in compiling monthly management accounts packs
    • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts
    • Record payments, conduct daily analysis of company accounts, and perform thorough reconciliations

    Accounts Assistant/ Corby/ 6-8 weeks - Urgently Needed

    Macildowie are excited to be working with a brilliant business based in Corby looking to add an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their team to support with a backlog of invoices

    This is a 6-8 week temporary role to support with a backlog of invoices, ensuring that the purchase ledger runs smoothly during a transition period.

    They are looking for someone who can get stuck in from day one, and hit the ground running.

    The role offers hybrid working, and flexible working hours equating to roughly 25 to 30 hours a week.

    For the right person they can be very flexible with the working hours and can even offer part time flexibility.

    The salary for this role is up to £14.50ph dependent on experience.

    This has the potential to move extremely quickly, perfect for someone on a short-term notice or immediately available.

    THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Process all Purchase ledger invoices and credit notes, matching them to GRNI, and follow up on missing invoices.
    • Ensure accurate invoice coding.
    • Create, maintain, and review Vendor card information for accuracy.
    • Verify and update the latest bank details for Vendors.
    • Handle Vendor communications, address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and manage disputes professionally and in a timely manner.
    • Monitor invoice aging and due dates.

    EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

    • Proven experience of a Purchase Ledger Assistant role
    • Experience with Sage systems is beneficial but not essential

    Job Description:

    Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Check invoices for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
    • Obtain appropriate authorisations for invoices and purchase requests as needed.
    • Raise any queries or discrepancies identified during invoice processing.
    • Code invoices accurately and input them into the system for processing and payment.
    • File and scan invoices to designated electronic folders, ensuring easy retrieval and organisation.
    • Maintain and update various spreadsheets to track invoice status and payment information.
    • Generate weekly and monthly payment batches in alignment with payment schedules.
    • Post manual cash payments and allocate them accurately to corresponding accounts.
    • Perform statement reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
    • Assist with the ledger and manage the purchase ledger inbox.
    • Execute any other duties as required to support the smooth functioning of the finance department.
    • Adhere to deadlines and demonstrate precision and attention to detail in all tasks.

    Key Experience:

    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Be personable, able to interact and work with all levels in the Company
    • IT literate including strong Excel and database skills
    • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
