17:15 to 19:30

Thorpes Joinery, Airfield Business Park, D, Harrison Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7UL

Join Jamie Draper from Macildowie Recruitment and our host Simon Hobart for our latest event in our informative and connected leadership academy series where in an open forum we will be tabling and discussing tools and strategies that enhance business performance and champion engagement for businesses looking to enhance their brand and market identity.

This unique networking opportunity is geared towards bringing together like minded business leaders with an appetite to share, learn and discuss opportunities and challenges in their organisations.

If there is a particular topic or area that you would like to open up and discuss to our forum, then please do drop me a line back with your ideas.

A selection of the topics that have been suggested are listed below:

  • Customer Selection – In a busy project and tender driven market, how do you favourably turn business away?
  • Commercial terms of business – What leverage do you have with your customer when it comes to payment?
  • Reporting Management Information – Does it cause a problem in succession planning and exit strategies?
  • Staff Engagement – How do you maintain and utilise a happy workforce with healthy retention levels?

Simon joined Thorpes as Finance Director in January 2015 to take responsibility for the Group Finances, and to bring his corporate ethos and knowledge to assist in driving the Group forward. Previously Simon worked as a Reporting Accountant for the BSS Group and in the following years he  rose to Head of Finance for Buck & Hickman, gaining valuable experience on their Leadership Team. Now into his third year at Thorpes he has been instrumental in the rebranding and expansion of the business, which has seen the amalgamation of three sites into a brand new custom designed and built environmentally efficient factory.
