Financial Accountant - Driving Financial Excellence for Sustainable Agriculture

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth by providing day-to-day leadership in purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash processes, cash flow forecasting, and continuous process improvement. This critical position will empower them to plan for and support innovative investment projects in food production and sustainability, enabling them to lead the way in the agricultural industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity of internal and financial accounting data, continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of financial accounting processes and the control environment.
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns and annual Corporation tax returns.
  • Support the production of annual statutory accounts.
  • Take charge of cash flow forecasting and drive improvements in the cash conversion cycle.
  • Lead the development of environmental reporting in accordance with evolving accounting standards.
  • Contribute to monthly management information packs, providing insightful reporting and analysis on cash flow, purchase-to-pay, and order-to-cash processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement and automation in financial processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Develop best practices, ensuring consistency and documentation in finance processes across all teams.
  • Support finance system upgrades, particularly in system testing and engaging with business end-users.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience. QBE will be considered in willing to commit to studying.
  • A strong business partner with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and earning the confidence of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within an operational, cash-generating business.
  • Previous responsibility for reporting and accounting for an entire legal entity.
  • Experience contributing to business process improvement initiatives to drive better outcomes.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to deliver insightful financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including report creation and presentation experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all business teams.
  • Proficiency in process mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Highly organised, driven, and able to prioritise tasks, meeting tight deadlines while demonstrating strong self-management skills.

Based primarily in their modern and spacious offices located on the picturesque Nocton Estate, just 20 minutes south of Lincoln, this role will offer occasional travel to other business locations.
