Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a Buyer to join a construction company in Newark Nottinghamshire


The successful Buyer will join a very busy team and be responsible for ensuring quality, quantity and price of raw materials needed to produce products ordered by customers.

The Role


The Buyer must possess the ability to work closely with project teams to understand the regular production requirements.


They will also be responsible for:


Negotiating and administering contracts with suppliers, both new and existing
Analysing price proposals and other data and information to determine reasonable prices
Initiating projects to reduce the total cost of raw materials and packaging goods
Evaluating and monitoring contract performance
Maintain and reviewing computerised or manual records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance and inventories
Monitoring shipments to ensure that goods come in on time
The creation and management of weekly production schedules

The Person


The successful Buyer will have:

Previous construction experience

Be able to read construction/engineering drawings.
Proven negotiation skills
Examples of cost savings they've made
Ideally have CIPS
Excellent organisational skills

The client would offer the successful candidate a package of £25,000-£30,000
