A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join one of Nottinghamshire's biggest success stories over the last two decades!
Our client has an opening for a Category Manager looking join a busy Procurement team.
The role will have Autonomy for sourcing tendering and contract management, overall management of supplier performance and quality standards as well as optimising spend with the objective of reducing total acquisition cost. The role will include liaising with internal stakeholders to establish requirements and working with the Procurement Management team.
Managing between 30-40 different categories, which will include:
Grounds & Landscaping
Point of Sale
Packaging inc. Retail
Cash Collection & Sales
Storage & Warehousing
Photocopying & Fax
And PPE & Footwear
Produce and implement a documented strategy to maximise the procurement potential of defined categories
Negotiate, document and record all commercial terms with suppliers, communicating these with internal stakeholders where appropriate
Carry out management and development of direct line supports
You will have:
The ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally
Effective negotiation skills
Experience of tendering category areas
Strong analytical skills and experience of agreeing and formalising Operating Agreements
