Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join an established logistics business and manage a team of five across two sites.
Responsibilities in the role will include:

-Manage and monitor the ongoing and future financial performance of the business to ensure management can optimize decision making
-Manage the commercial leadership of the business and provide guidance and challenge to drive growth, optimize investment and grow EBIT margins.
-Develop and maintain a motivated finance team and ensure there is a succession plan for the team
-Support complex customer negotiations and be accountable for Finance and Commercial proposals
-Effective task delegation to the team and ensure performance is managed
-Develop innovative commercial solutions that deliver improved profitability
-Form good business relationships with Operational leads and understand the p&l of all accounts.
-Deliver suitably balanced contracts between risk and reward, constant monitoring of performance
-Ensure all balance sheet items are understood and sound backing documents for accruals and prepayments
-Debt management and ensure cashflow is maximised
-Ensure adherence to accounting policies and ensure compliance with any changing legislation
-Manage the preparation of robust, accurate & challenging customer budgets and forecasts.
-Drive customer cost down agenda including process improvement within area of responsibility
-Take ownership of the control agenda for the contract, embedding a strong culture of compliance within team
-Implement and manage local business financial KPI reporting.
-Provide accurate cost reporting for the site and lead cost control actions.
-Review of IT systems and reports to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.


As the ideal candidate for this role you will be a qualified accountant CIMA, ACCA, ACA and have experience of managing a small team and be able to business partner the senior leadership team and customers
