Location: Nottingham

An exciting new Commercial Manager role has been created at a manufacturing company in Nottingham. This Commercial Manager role sits within a growing business and has been created to help ensure all pricing/quotations for new business are profitable through effective pricing and margin analysis.

What experience is sought? Well, you will need to have priced up quotations, ideally using a bill of materials to ensure sales are profitable. This role is relatively simple in that per end product, only one material is used. It would be your responsibility to make sure all the other variables were understood to optimise the margin, such as quantity, price of primary materials, time line for production, delivery and warehousing etc.

So if you have a good head for numbers (there are systems in place to help get the right prices) and have a love of maximising profit whilst ensuring the customer feels they are getting value, then read on. Ideally, you will have a background in commercial analysis - margin and/or pricing reports and setting guidance on what margins/prices need to look like to ensure profitability is optimised.

The wish list from the client is as follows:

  • Prior experience of determining prices (essential)
  • Reviewing current pricing for existing customers to ensure profitable (essential)
  • Updating price lists (preferred)
  • Looking at RFQ responses and working to get best pricing across (preferred)
  • Managing order to delivery communication with customers (essential)
  • Working closely with production teams internally to ensure deadlines are met (essential)
