Commercial Manager required for a large engineering consultancy to generate sales growth and increase profitability for their Home Counties operations.
This is a newly created and very exciting role designed to deliver revenue growth on top of the growth this organisation are already enjoying. As such, the client is keen to secure a strong people leader who has been driving sales growth through teams in the environmental engineering sector. The environmental engineering background is critical as the clien toperates in a technically and regulatory complex environment. Familiarity of this would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have a strong commercial skill-set, with a love for securing wins from bids, tenders and contract applications. In addition to this, the successful candidate will be able to work with other business units to maximise sales opportunities. Finally, you will need strong financial skills to own the sales forecast and ensure pipelined work is project managed correctly to deliver revenue.
This organisation have been growing their book of business over the last few years and need someone with strong sales forecasting and business development capabilities to identify where the wealth generation activities are within the sales team and drive their individual sales performances accordingly.
In short, our client seeks a person with the following skills and experience:
- Sales and business development leadership experience (Manager/Senior Manager level)
- Experience selling precision engineered products and/or services
- Skilled diplomat - able to engage internal and external customers/stakeholders
- An innovative and curious mind to help identify how to generate new business
- Strong financial skills (an ability to ensure projected sales are profitable and forecastable)
- Experience of working with regulated products (e.g. hazardous materials) is desirable
