Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

An exciting opportunity to join a credit control department as a credit control clerk, for an impressive company, successful and secure that has great retention and an impressive site with parking/good benefits.

The department is large and you would have your own ledger of 300 live accounts and sit in a sub credit team of 4 in a wider credit depo of 15, reporting to the Team Leader.

The manager is looking for those who are motivated to apply as they are keen to join on a long term basis-keen to take on someone who will stay and is not looking to do this job as a foot in the door of this company. The role has come about due team expansion, and the client ideally seeks a new addition with credit experienced who enjoy this type of work.

The team is constantly growing due to new ledgers coming in as a result of new acquisitions so this opportunity is one of many we have recruited in this team over the last 4 years.

The role is easily accessible from Leicester, Nottingham, Syston & Melton Mowbrary.


THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:


Chasing customers for payment of accounts by telephone, e-mail and letter, preparing statements of account and e-mailing/ faxing to customers to assist them to make payment.
Identifying issues on accounts and ensuring their prompt resolution
Ensuring payments are allocated accurately and to deadlines.
Assisting with month end close off and producing unallocated cash reports to the Accounts Receivable Team Leaders.
Preparing reports at month end and as necessary to show and explain performance against KPIs.
Processing Account Application Forms, checking credit via an online reference agency, taking references where appropriate and making credit limit recommendations to the Credit Risk Manager.
Accounting duties, creating and posting journals, checking exception reports.
Ensuring that all work conforms to current internal control procedures.
Preparing details on late customer payments and sending letters as required to customers.
Reviewing held orders in a timely fashion, reviewing accounts and making credit decisions where appropriate to release or not as agreed with the business.


EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

Previous credit control experience is important to them, however personal attributes are also equally as important, and so they are keen to recruit someone who can think for themselves, knows how to prioritise and what is most important in a group of tasks. Someone who will shout up if unsure and make notes when training, show some enthusiasm to want to do well in this role and really make the most of this opportunity.
