Macildowie are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Officer working for a business based in Wigston.
This is a full time contract role for 6 months.
THE ROLE & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing Data Protection Compliance and advising on legal requirements and best practice across the business
Ensuring the business adhere to current data protection legislation.
Being the lead contact for all data protection queries with regard to potential complaints and breaches, ensuring that requests for information are properly handled
Provide data to the Head of Governance on organisational compliance and conformance.
Review all current data protection practices and policies, identifying risks and recommending improvements where appropriate.
Review all arrangements for the transfer of data to third parties.
Review the use of data across the organisation ensuring appropriate permissions have been obtained and recommending where data shouldn't be used for the purpose its currently being used (if it is).
Manage all subject access requests ensuring legal guidelines are adhered to whilst only appropriate information is disclosed.
Process, co-ordinate and respond to all requests for information.
Act as the central point for all data protection issues arising throughout the organisation.
Recommending data protection clauses for legal contracts.
Draft a General Data Protection Regulation strategy.
Maintaining up to date knowledge of changing legislation.
EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
In order to be considered for this position you MUST have the following experience:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Relevant Data Protection qualification
Proven knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation.
A strong working knowledge of the Data Protection Act (1998).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Very strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and to build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, up to and including senior management level.
Development and implementation of strategy in line with organisational requirements.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to produce high quality data and reports.
