Job Description

Macildowie have been retained on an exclusive basis to recruit a HSEQ Coordinator for a market leading manufacturer. Their products and services are widely known and well regarded throughout the construction, mining, and oil and gas sectors. Their reputation has been built on a commitment to deliver outstanding insight and customer support over the past 50 years.

This is a newly created position following an internal team restructure and new contract wins.

As HSEQ Coordinator you will play a key role in upholding and maintaining all HSEQ activity for the UK business.

Working in collaboration with the HSEQ Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include;

Provide advice and assistance to all persons responsible for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

Ensure that effective risk assessment processes are in place

Provide effective systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and occupational ill-health

Organise arrangements to identify and implement required health surveillance

Validate and monitor arrangements for inspection and testing of facilities and equipment

Implement and test arrangements for emergency response and fire systems

Regularly review and report on HSE matters

Provide appropriate training and communication to ensure that all workers, including new starters, are aware of their

Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities and are competent to undertake them.

Organise and chair the site's safety and environment meetings

Liaise with external bodies, e.g. HSE, Insurance Assessors, Fire Authorities, Environment Agency, as required

Maintain appropriate documentation and records to demonstrate compliance with the HSE system and all statutory requirements

Skills and experience required

NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is highly desirable

Practical and up-to-date knowledge of UK health and safety legislation

Proven experience as a HSE Manager / Coordinator / Officer in a mid to large scale organisation

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety

NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management

A Degree / HND, or equivalent, in a technical discipline

This role will provide you with an opportunity to contribute across the entire HSEQ portfolio, which in turn will throw up many and varied challenges. As such, to fully succeed in the role, you'll need to be flexible, self-disciplined, persuasive, and results driven.

In addition, as you'll be required to travel on a fairly regular basis, you'll also need a full driving license.

Ideal candidates are likely to have experience gained in any one of the following roles; HSEQ Manager, HSQE Manager, Health and Safety Manager, SHEQ Manager, HSEQ Team Leader, HSEQ Officer or similar
