Finance Business Partner | £50,000 - £65,000 | Derby

Macildowie are working exclusively with a globally recognised manufacturing business in the Manufacturing Sector. They are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner in to their team on a permanent basis. Working from their UK office in Derby, you'll work closely with the finance team and will play a key role in the delivery of the Transformation Programme, partnering internally with Senior Stakeholders and externally directly with high importance organisations. The business supports both customer facing and operational (2 factories) activities. The revenue is derived from principally firm and target cost long term contracts. The Finance business partner will report to a senior finance BP. The role is one of the 4 finance BPs and the role will have operational and customer involvement.

With this role, there will be occasional travel to Bristol (2/3 times per month)

So what is the job?

  • Working with Senior Management Teams to ensure that business meets/beats the financial commitments. Identifying drivers and connections of the business performance
  • Working with the business area in the development of business plans/cases and investment requests as required
  • Play a key role in the Government Accounting Transformation programme with a focus on modelling improvement
  • Finance Business Partner from a Government accounting perspective
  • Play a key role in the Government Accounting Transformation programme with a focus on modelling improvement
  • Working with the business in development of financial and commercial strategy for new work/contract renewals, including the transition to more risk based contracts and operating under Single Source Contracting Regulations. Financial evaluation of Business Evaluation Forms
  • Producing business forecasts that are balanced, challenging and supported by coherent assumptions
  • Ensuring contract reviews meet governance requirements and challenge business performance
  • Regular interface with Customer and any other performance reviews. Providing support to ensure safeguarding of customer assets as required
  • Ensuring cost claims - cost certificates/cost rates are provided as required and support any necessary justifications to customers
  • Liaise with statutory auditors
  • Responsibility for relevant business area in the business unit's Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet control and fidelity
  • Member of the finance function and providing a leadership role in both the finance area and the wider businesses
  • Strategic and operational support to FD as required
  • Promotion of financial awareness within the business
  • Lead, engage and develop finance staff

Key experience needed (ideally one or more of the following)

  • Experience Business Partnering with senior and challenging stakeholders
  • Experience with cost accounting & government accounting
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP

What are you like?

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred).
  • 3-4 years post qualification experience.
  • Forecasting, budgeting and cost accounting experience.

Package - £50,000 - £65,000 - depending on experience
