Job Description

My client currently have an immediate contract need for a Finance Manager with experience in Major Projects Accounting to join the team on an initial 12 month contract. Based in their Thame office this integral role will see you lead a small finance team based in 3 countries in the delivery of a varied project portfolio across the EMEA region.


Duties in the role will include:
Providing professional financial and commercial management services to support the management team
Management of a geographically diverse finance team located near Oxford and in project offices across the Europe Africa region
Ensuring the integrity and application of accounting policies and procedures, systems and internal controls
Ensuring contract adherence as well as accurate monthly billing and revenue recognition
Project set up, maintenance and closure, ensuring contracts and variations are managed appropriately
Completion of regular and ad hoc project reports including financial performance, WIP, forecast, variance analysis, contract expenditure and commentary requirements
Forecasting of cashflow and financial performance
Manage statutory compliance requirements across various entities in Europe and Africa on a monthly and annual basis including transfer pricing practices and local statutory reporting.
Management of domestic and international bank accounts as well as acting as sign off authority
Detailed understanding and management of FX translations and balances
Identifying and implementing business improvement processes and initiatives
Assist in the analysis, calculations and employee reporting of Incentive Compensation.
Balance sheet reconciliation review and preparation if necessary across Europe and Africa.

As the ideal candidate for this position you will hold a recognised accounting qualification and have experience of managing a team. You will also have experience of working within a donor funded business and have a working knowledge of relevant tax compliance.
