Job Description

A unique opportunity has arisen for a finance manager to join this FTSE listed international organisation where you will act as key interface between the Indirect tax accounting team and its internal and external customers (Group Finance, Group Tax, Commercial Finance, internal & external audit, and tax authorities) to ensure that all accounting and reporting requirements relating to indirect taxes are met. The role will play a key part in supporting the change agenda as well as driving forward other projects to support the stabilisation of SAP.

Key responsibilities in the role will include managing the preparation and submission of VAT returns for UK and overseas and other tax returns in accordance with fiscal and regulatory requirements.
You will also work with Group tax to ensure compliance with group tax accounting and reporting requirements and act as the point of contact both internally and externally for all day to day indirect tax queries. The role will also maintain the financial ledgers which support the indirect tax areas, overseeing the work of an offshore and two onshore accountants, ensuring that key controls operate effectively and working with commercial stakeholders to provide robust forecasts of working capital balances.

The role provides key support to the Financial Controller in the identification of activities to manage the cost and complexity of compliance with legal, statutory, regulatory and group policies and procedures. In addition, the role will work with group indirect tax to manage the financial risks resulting from other tax planning activities. You will also act as the point of contact for external audit as it relates to indirect taxes providing high quality audit schedules on a timely basis as required and work with internal audit to identify and correct sub-optimal internal controls and operating procedures.
