Job Description

An opportunity to join a well established retail business during an exciting period of change. This role will manage the Financial Accounting team and will provide the financial controls to safeguard the business and provide accurate and insightful numbers to understand performance.

Duties in the role will include

Technical accounting expertise for all Gross margin areas
Deliver period, quarter and yearly reporting for gross margin, (P&L, Balance sheet & Cash), analysing commercial drivers for Exec, audit and external stakeholders.
Deliver budgets, forecasts and strategic plans for Gross Margin to enable management to make decisions based upon the most up to date and accurate views of current and future performance.
Provide accounting expertise and control of operational processes relating to Gross Margin to ensure accurate and representative profit & loss/balance sheet and the management of all risks and opportunities
Deliver period, quarter and yearly reporting for Gross Margin, (P&L, Balance sheet & Cash), analysing commercial drivers for Exec, audit and external stakeholders.
Deliver appropriate financial control and technical knowledge to ensure the business adhere to financial regulations and are in line with Group accounting policies
Areas of responsibility include Sales to Gross Margin accounting, Direct Imports / FX / RO accounting, Stock Revaluation & Supplier Funding, Strategic Assumptions for Costing Model and Final Pricing

As the ideal candidate for this role you will hold a recognised accounting qualification ACA, ACCA or equivalent and have experience of managing a team. Candidate who are currently working at audit manager level within a large practice would hold a distinct advantage. You will have the ability to present complex information in a simplified manner and also to influence effectively. Strong analytical skills, Excel skills and attention to detail are an absolute must for this role as is a strong commercial acumen, curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries. You will be assertive, challenging and confident with strong inter-personal skills and with the possess sound coaching and team leadership and development skills
