Job Description

Our established and highly accredited International SME client based in Leicester is currently looking to appoint a new Financial Controller.

This is a rewarding and challenging number one in finance opportunity to work in an innovative and dynamic group business where you will be responsible for providing a full business partnering and financial support service to the UK MD as well as coordinating the monthly reporting to Group. This role will also be responsible for the daily management, supervision and development of a small finance and administrative team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the key areas of responsibility of this broad and varied role will include: The management of cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports; To create monthly and annual reports and analysis to identify results, trends and financial forecasts; To oversee all general ledger activity including month end and year end close process; involvement in the preparation of year end Tax, VAT and statutory accounts /audit process and to manage relationships with auditors, tax authorities and banks; To establish, develop and continuously improve financial and MI reporting systems aimed at ensuring greater efficiency and compliance and the accuracy of financial planning and forecasting.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident Qualified or non- Qualified Finance Manager / Company Accountant / Financial Controller / Financial Accountant with a minimum of six years of management / controllership experience gained from working within a similar post. Strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently are also essential as is a high attention to detail and strong problem solving skills.

This role will require the successful candidate to challenge, facilitate and influence at all levels across the business and wider group. A “can do†attitude and “inquisitive business partnering skills†will be highly advantageous as will, strong spreadsheet, ERP and data manipulation skills.
