Job Description

Our branded UK food manufacturing client, an accredited leader in their sector is currently looking to recruit a new Financial Controller either on a fixed term contract or permanent basis. This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to work in a proactive and dynamic fast moving multi-site business where you will be responsible for providing technical, value adding, financial and commercial support to the Managing Director and the senior operational team.

The key responsibilities of this role will include all aspects of managing the smooth running and financial output of a cost focused circa £65 million turnover business; the preparation of weekly and monthly management and cost accounts to a tight deadline; forecasts, budget and annual accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS; to provide analysis of margin and overhead variances; responsibility for all internal controls and the quality and accuracy of financial information including the upgrade of their financial and ERP system; working capital control; new product development; the negotiation and re-negotiation of new and existing contracts and tenders as well as the day to day management and development of a small but experienced finance team.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident Qualified Financial Controller / Financial Director with proven financial and cost management experience of working in food manufacturing with strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

This role will require the successful candidate to be hands-on in challenging, facilitating and influencing at all levels across the business. Strong ERP, spreadsheet, data manipulation and MS excel skills are also highly desirable as is demonstrable experience of managing and developing teams.
