Job Description

Our established and highly reputable Northamptonshire based SME client is currently looking to recruit a new Financial Controller. This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity to work in a fast moving, proactive and dynamic UK business where you will be responsible for providing technical, value adding, financial and commercial support to the Financial Director and Managing Director.

The key responsibilities of this broad accounting and finance role will include all aspects of managing the smooth running and financial output of a cost focused circa £10 million turnover business including the timely and accurate production of management accounts and management information.

The core responsibilities for this role will include: The day to day running of the finance function; The production of MI including profit and loss, margin and balance sheet analysis; Control of balance sheet accounts; Tight management of cash flow; The production of forecasts and budgets, To manage the production of annual statuary accounts as well as liaising with external organisations including banks and the firms accountants. In addition to the above, the successful candidate will also provide a full payroll service as well as managing company administrative activities such as insurance, employee benefits and annul returns. As Financial Controller you will also support the executive and senior management team with various other ad-hoc tasks, financial advice and analysis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful UK business and will suit a confident and organised Qualified or Qualified by experience Company Accountant / Finance Manager / Financial Controller with strong interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. This role will require the successful candidate to challenge, facilitate and influence at all levels across the business. Strong spreadsheet, data manipulation and MS excel skills are also highly desirable as is any recent sector experience of working and being hands-on in a fast moving SME business.
