We're looking to fill a business critical vacancy for a global manufacturer. Unlike standard jobs in procurement, this role will see you working with key suppliers within the company, specialising in unique commodities and establishing long term working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Rest assured this role is not for the feint hearted, you'll be managing key accounts for the company, worldwide.
The scope of the role
This role works alongside the purchasing department reporting to the Procurement Manager. The team is split into two categories, Operational and Non Operational. You will be working on the non operational side, dealing with strategic buying, account management and commodities such as NPD.
The timeline for the client's strategy ranges from 12 36 months so you'll need to have experience with strategic buying.
Roles and Responsibilities
>Early Supplier Engagement - Engage suppliers and ensure products are designed to cost and manufacture.
>Work closely with the Category Manager, ensuring that agreed criteria are met
>Cooperate and work in conjunction with internal departments to deliver the cost targets and delivery targets are met
>To be responsible and take lead in negotiations and setting up reviews that deliver Innovation
>To work within SOP's for NPI
>Support Engineering and design departments alongside the Quality teams to ensure suppliers meet Group and Category targets.
>To negotiate supplier warranty related activities.
>Carry out processes and procedures for ensuring new suppliers meet the companies minimum
>Compile a budget for suppliers that sit within their regional responsibility
>Agree appropriate targets and commercial agreements
>Negotiate Prototype agreements with suppliers.
>Focus on Cost Management and improved levels of transparency throughout the company
>To negotiate preferred payment terms with suppliers
>To negotiate and agree Long Term Agreements with 'Key' suppliers
>Conduct continuous risk assessment process and ensure Business Continuity plans are in place with appropriate suppliers.

>Detailed understanding of Purchasing tools and processes
>Category Management experience
>Budget Planning experience
>Experience managing Supplier Contracts
>Project Management experience
>Demonstrate Practical Problem Solving
>Able to use Advanced Negotiation Techniques
