Job Description

Macildowie HR are working with a small business in the Ashby area as they are looking for an HR Administrator to join them on a permanent basis. Offering a salary between £18,000-£21,000, free parking and other great benefits.

The business have 800 employees across the UK and this role will sit within the small team based at Ashby. You will report directly in to the standalone HR Manager and gain exposure in to their world.

The HR Manager is very bubbly and enjoys a laugh and a joke but also believes in hard work! She will gladly give direction to support the successful candidate but prefers to give autonomy.

The Role

You will be the first point of contact for all HR queries as the HR Manager tends to be out of the office ¾ days a week as her role is regional. You will get involved with recruitment, writing and posting the adverts, liaising with agencies and supporting the interview process.

Checking documents such as Right to Work and DBS will fall within your remit, as will ensuring the database is up to date with the correct details for all employees.

You will support the HR Manager with disciplinary and grievance meetings in a note taking aspect, sending the outcome letters etc.

As there will only be 2 in the HR team, you will get involved with the HR Manager's line of work and any projects they have ongoing, giving you great exposure to different aspects.

This role will have aspects of office management and PA duties as you will support the MD with their emails and inbox, liaise with suppliers and customers and occasional manage the diaries.

The Ideal Candidate

The office is quite quiet so the successful individual will need to be confident in themselves, a bit of a self starter who can work on their own initiative as the HR Manager will not be in the office 5 days a week.

Confidence is key as mentioned and this will be valuable when you are building relationships within the business so employees feel they can come to me to discuss issues on a confidential basis.
