Job Description

A large business is looking for a HR Advisor to join their HR department to drive business forward. Looking for someone with a strong generalist HR background with excellent employee relations and recruitment experience to hit the ground running. The role is based in Leicester and paying £30,000 - £33,000 + benefits dependant on experience. This is a 3-6 month contract initially


The Role:

Reporting to the HR Manager and working in a wider HR team, you will use your excellent interpersonal and influential skills to build strong relationships with managers within the head office as well as with trade unions. From the offset, you will use your past experience and up to date employment law experience to provide first line employee relations advise, including; disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management, policies and procedures, advising on the recruitment process, restructures, redundancies, TUPE etc. Ensuring you advise in a coaching style in order to up-skill managers.

There is an opportunity to work on projects such as: assisting the HR Team with graduate recruitment and the apprenticeship programme, pushing the new training plan forward with the help of the HR team, equality & diversity, driving performance, lowering absence whilst championing and driving key HR initiatives across the organisation. You will be confident in deputising for the strategic HR Manager when required.


The Candidate:

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong influencer to effective relationships with key stakeholders. You will ensure you gain credibility by instilling confidence in line managers and employees through your knowledge of employment law and your excellent communications skills. You will be capable of working under tight deadlines in a fast paced, environment, be confident in your ability to be a real 'role-model' for the rest of the team, and be a strong motivator to mentor the Assistant HR Advisor.
