Macildowie HR is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading manufacturing business based in Northamptonshire in the recruitment of a HR & Payroll Officer. The role will report into the HR Manager and work alongside colleagues for the UK and Global business. The role is paying in the region of £27,000-£30,000 depending on your experience + some great benefits.
You will be providing first line support for all HR and Payroll queries across the business and assisting line managers with advising on a range of policies and procedures. You will be a key figure in ensuring these procedures are followed correctly. . You will be leading on low level ER cases and dealing with the process from start to finish with the additional support from line managers when needed. There is lots of opportunity to get involved with recruitment, including advertising roles, screening and interviewing candidates. You will have a direct report and it will be a large part of your role to support and upskill them from a HR Apprentice into a fully fledged HR professional. This will also help with additional project work such as the Apprenticeship Levy and reviewing the businesses policies and procedures.
It is essential that this person is able to collate data for payroll through various systems and send this off as part of your role. You will then pass your knowledge down to the HR Apprentice who will then be tasked with running payroll through your development. Another part of the role will revolve around a lot of project based work. You will be responsible for managing process and ensuring that projects are business critical and in keeping with company values. Keeping up to date with changes in the law is essential and you will also be managing the upskilling and development of senior management.
This is an absolutely amazing opportunity for someone to really develop and progress within their career. As the business has various sites, there may be occasions where you will be required to travel when dealing with certain cases however this is on a case by case basis.
You will have experience of working within a similar role and must have experience within a recent HR environment. You will be able to prioritise work loads and have a can do attitude with regards to dealing with problems and picking up adhoc work. You will be motivated and have good HR understanding. You will be looking to progress within an HR career.
