Job Description

A fantastic opportunity to join a well established, highly desirable machinery company as a HR and Payroll Assistant. Based in Nottingham, the company is expanding rapidly and they are looking for a HR and Payroll Assistant to join the team.

The Role:
The role will involve both HR and Payroll duties. Key parts of the role will be:
Preparing and administering all employee life cycle paperwork
Carrying out new starter reference checks
Supporting on ad hoc HR projects as they arise
Being the first point of contact for HR enquiries from staff either in person, by telephone or via email and escalate to the HR Manager as required
Being responsible for running HR reports

Aspects of Payroll will be:
Running monthly end to end payroll, ensuring that staff are paid on time and receive the correct payments
Ensure that correct payments, reports and returns are made to HMRC, the selected occupational pension provider (when appointed) and other statutory bodies, where needed.
Carry out month and year end processes essential for statutory and other returns.
Design, develop and maintain up to date and comprehensive guidance notes on using the payroll database.
Prepare budgetary information from the payroll as required by the Head of Finance and provide support during the annual budgeting process.

The Ideal Candidate:
You will be CIPD qualified and have experience working in a HR and Payroll role previously. You must have knowledge of SAGE and be confident in your ability to mange payroll effectively. You should have a passion for HR and enjoy project work as well as being solutions focused. It will be important to build excellent relationships with key stakeholders so a confident and personable manor will be advantageous.
