HR Director - Northamptonshire - £70,000-£85,000
Macildowie Recruitment is delighted to be working as an exclusive partner with a well known, growing manufacturing business in Northamptonshire as they look to recruit an HR Director to lead their HR function. The business has a strong reputation in its market and they are continually growing. Given the growth ambitions of the business they are looking to develop a robust HR service that can begin to add greater value. The role will report directly into the CEO and will directly manage an HR team of 5 spread across 3 sites. The role will be recruited on a permanent basis and will pay up to £85,000 + benefits.
The HR Director will be responsible for the complete HR provision for circa 1500 employees. While responsible for leading on strategic HR initiatives and projects, the HR Director will enjoy a role that offers great variety and the ability to truly engrain themselves with the business.
The HR Director will be expected to build relationships with all levels of the business to improve the visibility and accountability of HR but also to help drive change and improvement initiatives. The role will have accountability for everything HR; Talent, Engagement, Recruitment, ER, Union relationships and reward. There are 4 HR Business Partners and a Group L&D Manager reporting into this role that the HR Director will be expected to develop and support.
Areas of focus for any incoming HR Director in the short to medium term will be:
- Formulating a realistic HR strategy
- Deploying and embedding a new talent management system
- Reinventing performance management frameworks
- Establishing a recruitment strategy
- Ensuring the business is compliant and union relationships are formed
- Building relationships with senior leadership team
Our client is looking for a pragmatic HR generalist with experience of managing a HR team and has experience in a blue collar environment. Experience of strategy writing is sought, however our client is looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and really get to know the business from the bottom up. A pragmatic approach to working, a commercial mindset and a strong work ethic are essential to be successful in this role. Flexibility in visiting the various sites across the UK will be required although the role will be based from Corby.
