Job Description

Macildowie HR are working with a specialist manufacturer in Leicestershire as they are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join their tight knit team. This is a permanent position, based on the outskirts of Leicestershire offering a salary between £30,000-£35,000 and other benefits.

The Senior HR Advisor will provide HR support to an employee base of c. 500, and provide managers and employees alike with accurate and practical advice and guidance on a range of HR and Employment Law issues whilst analysing complex HR issues and to make decisions in line with best practice and company policy and ensure strong relationships are built with all stakeholders.

You will be joining a business that has a long and successful heritage within the world of manufacturing. They have 8 countries across 3 continents making them well placed logistically!

The Role

Using in-depth knowledge on a broad range of Human Resources and employment law issues and current best practice to provide accurate and professional advice to queries obtained either in person, via email or telephone.

To further strengthen employee relations and to build good working relationships through the application of best practice and personal leadership

To use research and analytical skills to ensure personal knowledge of current and forthcoming employment law and HR best practice is kept up to date at all times via use of appropriate research methods and identifying and sourcing own training needs.

Thorough understanding, practical knowledge and ability to advise on conducting investigation, disciplinary and grievance hearings, including interface with trade union representatives and understanding of tribunal process

To develop our human resource capability and devise and implement creative solutions to strengthen and enhance the technical and specialist skills of our staff.

To design and utilise in-house tools and processes to enhance management development and career and succession planning activities particularly centered on a competency framework approach.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A strong generalist operational HR background will suit this role as will comprehensive experience of handling complex and sensitive issues.
  • Experience supporting managers with the handling ER, recruitment and ad hoc project work.
  • Well organised with excellent communication skills, you must be able to communicate well with people at all levels.
  • A willingness to learn and work quite autonomously as well as a level of drive!
