IT Category Lead | Public Sector Body | Buckinghamshire | £50,653 - £63,495
Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a Public Sector organisation based in Buckkinghamshire who are seeking to appoint a new IT Category Lead to join their Procurement Team.
This role does not require prior public sector experience or knowledge and they welcome those with a commercial background and this is demonstrated by the diversity in team experience. You will however still benefit from the public sector benefits on offer of 3 days working from home, 34 days annual leave and a very generous c30% employer contribution pension scheme. It is paying between £50,653 - £63,495 depending on experience.
This is an established post having been managed by an interim however they are now looking for an individual on a permanent basis to lead and strategically develop the IT category. Prior experience within IT is the key non-negotiable requirement for this post.
This is an outward facing role, focused on integrating yourself into the key business area's to enable you to move IT forward. Tendering will be minimal (except for extremely busy periods) as there are two established Category Managers supporting this post who will be handling the bulk of this and so this will give you the freedom and autonomy to focus on more high level work.
- Knowledge of supply chains for; IT software, hardware, cloud services, licences and consultancy effort.
- Experience of procurement for complex IT projects, including cloud services.
- Evidenced strategic experience
- Prior management experience - as managing a small team
Desirable but not essential
- CIPS Level 4
- Public sector awareness/ knowledge
- Experience within a commercial trading environment
- Understanding of Central Government procurement systems and standards
- Flexible working - 2 days remote working per week if wanted
- Exceptional pension - 30% employer contribution
- 34 days annual leave
