Job Description

Macildowie are working with an established tool manufacturer/retailer based in Leicester. My client is looking to recruit a Online Product Merchandiser to support the Commercial team.

The role of Digital Merchandiser is to load and optimise digital content to increase conversion, order
value and customer engagement.

This role is responsible for on boarding new products whilst seeking to improve base content in line with customer needs to support revenue and growth targets. The primary focus of the team will be creating and developing ways of using product content to drive an improved experience, but the team will also be comfortable with identifying and shaping new opportunities, working cross functionality with a wider UX, Product, Technical and Marketing teams to bring them to fruition.
The team will work in a test and learn environment, taking informed risks and being able to drive
forward successful changes whilst learning from less successful ones.

The role:

  • Be responsible for ensuring that product templates are created and loaded
  • Liaise with Supplier Teams and Suppliers to ensure that content is supplied in line with requirements
  • Working within defined guidelines, make content improvements
  • Optimise core product content based on customer behaviour
  • Support creation of content plans to support Zoro strategy
  • Prioritise changes based on commercial opportunity
  • Identify and create / source new types of digital merchandising content that will drive customer engagement
  • Define requirements for functional or system changes
  • Identify opportunities to drive order value and sales through building out product relationships
  • Suggest and implement changes based on report
  • Test and measure all changes identifying successes and as importantly, any negative impacts

The candidate:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of creating digital product content
  • Experience of using Analytics tools to measure and monitor impact of changes
  • Ability to take results and turn into action
  • Passion for all things digital coupled with the drive to make a difference to customers
  • Understanding of how customers consume information online
  • Knowledge and experience of creating effective SEO content
  • Understanding of content requirements by device and channel
  • Ability to work independently against a defined set of objectives
  • Strong cross-functional experience and ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment
  • SQL experience preferred
