This week I caught up with a good client of mine to discuss recent changes in their organisation.
She explained that the business has recently been acquired by a large multi-national organisation, and they will be injecting a large volume of cash into the company to drive new projects, implement new product lines and look for further growth via acquisition within the industry.
This is a newly created Financial Controller position, to support the FD with providing detailed operational and costing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.
This will be a key role within the management team and has scope to move towards becoming a future FD position with the business.
This position will allow you to build effective relationships and business partner with the commercial and operational teams, develop the costing system, manage physical inventory levels, variance analysis, month end reporting and operational budgeting and forecasting.
The key areas of focus from the management team include undertanding the standard costs in the bill of materials, breakeven points of different products at different stages of the manufacturing process, analysing the pricing and margins by product and leading significant capex projects.
* My client is keen to consider meeting candidates who are qualified / passed finalists, with experience of working in an industrial engineering or manufacturing business.
* Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department teams.
* You must be highly familiar with production operations.
