The Opportunity

Macildowie Marketing are currently recruiting for an experienced PHP Developer to join an ambitious and rapidly growing Marketing Agency based in Leicestershire. This is a fantastic job opportunity for a talented back-end PHP developer/engineer who is familiar with all standard LAMP technologies.

Key Duties


The PHP Developer will typically work across a wide variety of tasks including both new and legacy projects for in-house development. You will need to be confident in adopting best practice and their current software stack already utilises automated unit testing, continuous integration, git and a flexible approach to continuous deployment. The support and modification of existing legacy projects will be a key component of the role and the essential technical skills for this job are listed below.

Experience required

-PHP
-OOP and strong OOD skills with a thorough understanding of what makes code testable
-MySQL
-One or more major PHP framework (e.g. Symfony2)
-JavaScript
-AJAX
-One or more major source control systems (e.g. Git)

An understanding of Agile methodologies and Linux Server Administration would be an advantage alongside TDD, JS frameworks, ticketing systems (JIRA, REdmine etc). Applicants should be experienced in a professional environment and keen to learn, with training and incentives on offer as well as a progression path within an organically expanding business.
