Job Description

Macildowie Marketing are currently recruiting for an experienced PR Manager to join a global healthcare related business based in Corby. The purpose of the role will be to own the PR strategy and management of a small team to deliver the PR and Events marketing plan. Events experience is not essential but an understanding would obviously be an advantage.


Key Responsibilities

This job will support the marketing team to deliver the PR and Event elements of the marketing plan to ensure activity is relevant and supports the company objectives and strategy. You will hold budget responsibility and be able to measure the effectiveness of the PR and Event activity, making adjustments where necessary to ensure ROI is achieved.

The PR & Events Manager will be responsible for defining and executing the PR strategy to drive brand awareness through an increase in media exposure year on year, ensuring activity encourages customer engagement with the brand.

It will be important to build relationships with current and new media contacts to gain and maintain press attention for the brand and proactively develop local, business and non-consumer media relationships and other opportunities for new PR partnerships - business/celebrity. You will also be a part of the crisis management team and support the PR Coordinator to deliver press releases, photoshoots, blog content, magazine content and competitions.

With regards to Events, you will support the Event Coordinator to deliver the UK, International and internal events and understand the objectives of each event to ensure clear briefs are provided. You will also be required to visit potential UK & International event locations to provide visit reports / proposals to the business and be required to attend events as required. You will ultimately own the relationship with event agencies to ensure ROI is achieved.


Key Skills Required

The successful candidate will be a driven PR professional with previous experience operating as a PR Manager and have a good knowledge of UK mainstream media and how to gain positive exposure, with a comprehensive network of contacts.

You will have the ability to think strategically and develop, communicate and implement a compelling vision. Proven people management skills are important alongside crisis management skills. You will be a strong communicator who can confidently present to a large audience and be comfortable with travel because there will be occasional requirements to stay overnight for up to 5 days at a time throughout the year.
