We are proud to be recruiting a Senior Buyer for our client who is doing a lot of exciting work across the UK. The role would be supporting further growth and would give you an amazing opportunity to develop while being part of something important.

Based in Northampton, our client is at the forefront of sustainable energy, with year-on-year growth and multiple sites around the UK, they have an exciting future. This role would be ideal for a strong Buyer, with a mixture of direct and indirect procurement and with CIPS Level 4 or above. You would be inquisitive by nature, have a high attention to detail and be a strong team player.

You will be working with key stakeholders among a number of projects, while being key in negotiations and contract management and throughout the procurement life cycle.

The role offers an excellent package of between £45,000-£53,000, depending on your experience, with upto 15% bonus and hybrid working, meaning you would have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract negotiations with key stakeholders, with ability to review and amend as necessary
  • Driving actions to support the Procurement Team and deliver on key objectives
  • Monitoring supplier performance against agreed KPIs to drive higher levels of performance.
  • Reporting through Power BI interface to provide a dynamic and live suite of reports
  • Ensure supplier recommendations that are proposed are compliant with company policies and industry regulations
  • Deliver savings and added value through effective sourcing and procurement
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers where necessary to resolve contractual issues, invoice queries and issues that may impact the business and/or supply chain
  • Analyse market trends, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier innovation.
  • Evaluate processes worked on and suggest improvements
  • Ad hoc project work - CAPEX

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in Procurement - ideally 5+ recent year's experience as a Buyer
  • CIPS Level 4 essential, CIPS Level 6 desirable
  • Strong balance of Direct and Indirect spend experience (Raw Materials, Components, MRO, CAPEX, Professional Services etc)
  • Strong negotiation experience
  • Experience working from End-to-End of the Procurement life-cycle, including creating documents for various stages
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent team player
  • High attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Maximo software and PowerBI highly advantageous
