Warehouse Manager
Job Description
We are proud to be recruiting for an interim Warehouse Manager for our client, who is a charity that specialises in helping those around the country. Their work contributes to thousands of people each year and you would be able to help contribute to this!
Based in Daventry, the role is going to be responsible for a team of 4, being hands-on with the team and the allocation of inventory. This position is short-term to start, but potential for longer and even a permanent position, so we are looking for someone with a fire in their belly to make a great and lasting impression!
You will have strong IT skills and be very organised, while you will need to be immediately available or available on a 1 week notice period.
The role is looking to offer between £15-£18 per hour on a 40 hour week.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise the collection and delivery of Reuse materials and goods through managing the team of collection drivers.
- Manage all stock movements within the warehouse, ensuring that stock levels are accurately recorded and reported.
- Record keeping and report creation regarding daily weights and selling weights.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service, productivity, and efficiency at all stages of collection and selling of stock.
- Implement health and safety measures alongside Reuse department HSAW policy, including ensuring vehicles are maintained and regularly serviced as per policy and procedure documents.
- Ensure all security, health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all Organise stock received from collection drivers and process goods for exporting
- Liaise with Reuse Operations Manager regarding the sale of goods with buyers
- Recruit and train volunteers to assess stock and select certain stock for E-Commence where required
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in a similar warehouse management/supervisory role, with experience of managing.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations, with experience of implementing and maintaining these procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- A high level of attention to detail, with experience of managing and recording stock levels and movements.
- A forklift truck license and experience of operating a forklift truck in a warehouse environment would be advantageous.
- Good IT skills, with experience of using spreadsheets, databases, and other software packages to record and manage data.
- Experience of working with volunteers, with the ability to train and supervise volunteers to assess stock and select certain stock for the shops where required.
- A positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
