Job Description

Macildowie Procurement and Supply Chain have been engaged on an exclusive basis to recruit a Procurement Manager for this market leading company. This is a newly created role that will be based in Wigan.

The key objective is to facilitate and manage a class leading procurement function that is focused on delivering the strongest possible commercial solutions to the business.

The role

To be successful in the role you'll need to champion the procurement function within the business whilst at the same time successfully managing suppliers and contracts on a continuous basis.

The role will be very hands on and will require a highly proactive individual that thrives on working in a busy and demanding team environment, to deliver on time, on budget procurement.

The role is geared to ensure that the procurement function delivers high quality, value for money outcomes across a broad range of categories; Fleet, logistics, spares, services etc.

The successful applicant must have a proven, demonstrative procurement background and in-depth knowledge and experience.

A solid understanding of the strongest procurement methods and commercial models employed within the industry is required, as is the ability to understand contract requirements and the resulting procurement implications.

  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and a commitment to providing customers with the highest levels of service
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, communication and people management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and commercially to identify and deliver results
  • Experience in managing relationships both externally and internally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing, presentation, report writing and facilitation skills
  • Computer literate - all Microsoft products and procurement packages
