A Manufacturing business with a Global Supplier and Customer reach is currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to lead a team of operational purchasing professionals.
Although the team is Operational the Purchasing Manager's role is strategic and you will need to have the ability to manage the day to day running of the team, whilst being able to step back and look strategically at the Suppliers, Contracts and overall Margin to maximise the incremental gains.
Working closely with operations and supply chain to develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
Oversee and be responsible for best practices in procurement and Internal sales teams
Oversee negotiation and manage contracts with suppliers UK and overseas in line with agreed SLA's which include rebates
Promote and build strong external relationships with our partners both customers and suppliers
Work with Directors to create strategy and contingency plans in line with business step changes
Control department's budgets
Monitor contract cost against agreed budgets
Implement and monitor relevant KPI's within the department
Create and implement a training plan for the team and individuals
Report back on a monthly basis
Previous experience in a senior procurement role
Team management and development track record
Proven examples of delivering strategic sourcing plans and cost reductions
Good internal and external communication and influencing ability
