Job Description


A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work with a leading business based in Chesterfield as a Reception. The main purpose of the role is being responsible for the delivery of professional reception service at the Chesterfield site, providing support to the HR function, and Facilities Manager. As well as the day to day reception role you will also be required to Upload job adverts to the website, recruitment sites, and develop advert for social media, Process reference requests, Add new starters to HR system and order business cards for new starters. This is a full time position, working on a temporary to permanent basis.


  • Provide support to the Director of Resources and Facilities Manager
  • Promote Chamber services to Members and visitors
  • Ensure calls are handled professionally and promptly within three rings
  • Ensure all visitors are registered and issued with the appropriate security pass
  • Meet and greet visitors
  • Take ownership and pride in the reception area keeping it presentable and up to date at all times, responsible for the cleanliness/tidiness of receptions in ensure all leaflets, signage and magazines are kept up to date
  • Delivery of training on telephones to new staff
  • Ensure cover for reception through a rota
  • Ensure the reception and virtual office service is delivered to a high standard and consistently across sites
  • Support colleagues with room bookings and room preparation including refreshments and parking, for meetings/training
  • Responsibility for stationary orders and control of stationary including budgets
  • Responsible for the provision of a general administration service to other departments including postal services, fax, stationery, access control and others required
  • To be responsible for the provision of effective goods received services and the efficient control of stationery and refreshment stocks and their distribution, monitoring and maintaining expenditure for stationery and refreshments within agreed budgets
  • In co-operation with others members of the team organise and control all refreshment stock, tableware stock including ordering, receipt and storage.
  • Build positive working relationship with contacts at all suppliers.
  • Manage own diary to ensure customer service is met in all areas
  • Flexibility around work, and working hours to cover reception hours and colleagues holidays
  • Record and distribute post and deliveries
  • Ensure any visitors, especially tradesmen complete all relevant paperwork (H+S) etc
