Sales Manager / Business Development / Area Manager / Building Merchants

Are you currently working within the building and construction industry and managing a team of field sales people? Are you a business development manager or field sales representative for a building merchant business and want to move up to the next step? Then we wish to hear from you.

Based in the East Midlands and succeeding with year on year growth, we are looking to hire a sales manager/area sales manager with experience within building materials and construction to manage a team of 8 and continue our growth within the industry sector.

The main responsibility of the job is to train, guide and coach our field sales representatives - helping them to increase our range of range of products with independent builders and SME businesses - and coach them to improve their ability. You'll be reporting into the sales director and also be responsible for recruitment of future sales staff as we continue to grow. You'll be expected to lead by example of meet some of your key accounts to ensure they know who you are and continue to work with us.

The ideal candidate will come from a builder's merchant background, preferably not tool hire, but this will still be considered. We are interested in talking to candidate's that have managerial experience and can demonstrate growth within their current line of work.

We will also consider candidates that operate in Trade of home furnishings e.g. kitchen and bathroom retailers on the Trade side (Magnet, Wilbond etc).

The job offers a competitive salary of £35,000-£45,000 (maybe £50,000 for an exceptional candidate), Company Car and bonus structure as well as other employee benefits. Working hours are flexible and the role will typically be Monday to Friday. Holiday entitlement is 22 days plus bank holidays, which is also negotiable for the right person.
