Job Description

We are currently working in partnership with a prominent organisation in Derby that are looking to recruit a Senior Category Manager to help support the Head of Procurement.

The successful Category Manager will be responsible for pro actively developing and implementing their appropriate category plans whilst engaging and utilising the key stakeholders to deliver best total cost.

Key responsibilities:

Understand and analyse the spend in order to develop specific category plans
Build lasting and beneficial relationship with your key stakeholders
Be the expert in your field and the go to person for any inquiries
Share knowledge and expertise within the team
Deliver total cost savings and improved supplier performance
Manage the delivery performance of suppliers and action errors where necessary

Experience required:

EU procurement experience would be beneficial
Proven stakeholder engagement background
CIPS qualification is ideal but not essential
Category experience demonstrable experience of defining and managing a diverse portfolio of spend categories using appropriate best practice to build knowledge of demand and supply and ensure realistic strategies are in place and delivering expected benefits.
