Senior Category Manager

This vacancy for senior category manager is unlike most of the procurement and supply chain jobs. You'll be managing a team of over 10 senior buyers and buyers for a blue chip manufacturer in the Midlands. A key emphasis in your role as Senior Category Manager will be around leadership, guiding your team and helping to improve the overall performance of the department.
> Management of various commodities ranging from Fabrications through to Mechanical Systems
> Lead, guide and develop a team of 10 senior/ commodity buyers
> Assume responsibility for the space between global procurement and local sites
> Win any material bids
> Drive down costs and reduce spend on material
> Manage any risks and opportunities on current and future projects
> Strong leadership ability
> Proven track record of developing teams
> Excellent communication skills
> Experience in a similar role
