Senior Finance Manager North Nottinghamshire - £50,000 - £55,000


Looking to grow your career and secure a job that gives you real responsibility and the opportunity to add commercial value? This Senior Finance Manager role would see you operating as a Finance Director across your key projects, supporting the general manager to maximise commercial value and build exceptional relationships with external stakeholders.


This is a great role. A job that would see you working as a key Finance figure in a business which has delivered on projects worth over £12bn. You will take responsibility for the effective management of two projects, managing internal and external stakeholder expectations and deliver accurate budgets and forecasts, maintaining and building financial models and deliver at board meetings around financial performance.


So what are you going to be doing?


Loads of great stuff! Importantly, you'll have some big responsibilities. This is a finance job which gives you autonomy. You'll also be helping your external stakeholders to deliver key services that affect each and every one of us.
You'll be freed of the blue chip hierarchy and you will be highly visible in the success of your decision making. The current incumbent has been in post for less than 2 years and has just secured a promotion that see's him working as a commercial finance director.


How did he get there? By engaging. By challenging the assumptions on his projects and by delivering commercial value. He hasn't been a back office accountant. He has made sure that he is in front of his key stakeholders and helped them to drive success in their own careers as well.


Which is what you will be doing. Driving success.


You will take responsibility for two projects worth over £500m (in terms of the asset value). You will manage the financial aspects of any commercial activity ensuring that these are accurately reflected in the financial models and project documentation.


So who are you?


You're a qualified accountant for a start. In a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA or CIMA.) You'll have a minimum of 4 years post qualified experience and you will be able to convey complex financial principles in simple language.
You will have strong communication skills that will allow you to show your stakeholders how to maximise value, providing a reasoned and structured argument for a particular course of action this isn't a “finger in the wind†kind of environment!


You will have the ability to comply with complex contractual obligations and present information in a professional reporting style. You'll have probably worked in a blue chip business that has complexity.
