Job Title: Depot Administrator - Hydraulic Hoses & Fittings
Location: Birtley - Depot Based
Hours: Monday - Friday

Overview:


We are pleased to be partnering with a well-established and fast growing Hydraulics business, specialising in hydraulic hoses and fittings, to appoint a highly organised and proactive Depot Administrator.


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit and hardworking team where you'll play a key role in supporting operational efficiency through effective stock control, purchasing, and supplier coordination.

The Role:


As the Depot Administrator, you will be responsible for all workshop administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping, stock availability, and timely procurement of materials. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is confident in liaising with suppliers and customers alike.

Your key duties will include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and inventory movements
  • Conducting stock cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions
  • Ordering stock based on customer requirements and inventory levels
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders
  • Sourcing stock at the best possible prices and negotiating delivery terms
  • Providing quotes to customers and responding to supply enquiries promptly
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and customer teams
  • Ensuring excellent communication across internal and external stakeholders

About You:


To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in administration, purchasing, or stock control (preferably in a workshop, engineering, or technical setting)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A strong eye for detail and high level of organisational ability
  • Confidence in negotiating with suppliers and managing stock levels efficiently
  • Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-paced environment
