The Opportunity
Sitting within the Group Reporting function, you will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a robust financial control framework across the organisation. This is a hands-on position, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure accuracy, compliance, and best practice in financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and enhance financial controls, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal governance standards.
Conduct journal testing and balance sheet reconciliation reviews, validating compliance and data integrity.
Oversee divisional valuation processes and margin reviews, partnering closely with Commercial teams to ensure accuracy and rigour.
Lead quarterly reviews and prepare papers for the Audit Committee, providing insight into margin recognition and financial risk.
Manage financial control due diligence on strategic initiatives.
Safeguard accuracy of data for external publications and disclosures.
Ensure robust delegation of authority and approval workflows across the Group.
Candidate Profile
Qualified accountant with strong experience in financial controls; trained in a top 10 Audit firm is a must.
Proven ability to design, monitor, and improve control frameworks, ideally within a large or listed business.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and UK corporate governance requirements (SOX familiarity helpful but not essential).
Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
Confident working independently but collaborative by nature, with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
