Financial Controller | £70,000 - £75,000 + Car | Manchester M62 Corridor
About the Role:
A newly created opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Financial Controller to join a growing SME business located on the outskirts of Manchester, along the M62 corridor. This pivotal role has become available following a recent transaction and is ideal for someone looking to take full ownership of the finance function in a dynamic, evolving environment.
As Financial Controller, you will report directly to the MD and be responsible for both day-to-day financial operations and strategic commercial support. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business on a growth journey, where your input will directly influence decision-making and company performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small, capable finance team
- Own the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts
- Oversee statutory reporting, audit, and compliance requirements
- Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Develop internal controls, systems, and reporting processes
- Business partnering with commercial teams to support growth initiatives
- Provide financial insight to support strategic decision-making post-transaction
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in an SME environment (essential)
- Strong technical accounting skills combined with commercial acumen
- Hands-on, detail-focused, and proactive approach
- Able to lead and motivate a small team effectively
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership
- Previous experience in a post-transaction or change environment would be advantageous
