Macildowie are working with this client based in Bridgeport to recruit a Caretaker on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation that prides itself on high standards of presentation, safety and facilities management.
As Caretaker, you will be responsible for the maintenance, presentation and security of the site buildings, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment for all building users, while also managing bookings and supporting the day-to-day operational requirements of the site.
Key Responsibilities include:
Maintaining health and safety standards, including fire alarm testing and accident reporting
Overseeing security procedures and ensuring the safe operation of building systems
Carrying out emergency and routine maintenance tasks
Supervising contractors and liaising with external parties for defect rectification
Supporting facilities bookings and providing access to users
Managing stock levels and ensuring efficient use of resources
About You:
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
Experience in building maintenance, caretaking and security
Understanding of boiler plant operation and heating systems
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work unsociable hours as required
Excellent communication and customer service skills
