Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: North Leicester (office-based, 5 days per week)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
System: Sage
We are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a busy and growing finance team based in North Leicester.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing high volumes of invoices while maintaining excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
The Role
You will be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of supplier invoices and the day-to-day management of the purchase ledger, supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices (circa 1,500 per month)
- Matching, batching, and coding invoices accurately in Sage
- Maintaining supplier accounts and resolving invoice and statement queries
- Assisting with supplier payment runs
- Carrying out bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Supporting month-end finance processes
- Ensuring purchase ledger records are accurate and well organised
- Providing general finance and administrative support as required
About You
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage
- Experience working in a high-volume invoice processing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confident user of Excel and other office systems
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
