Payroll Co-ordinator
As Payroll Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company’s payroll, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and internal controls. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, working closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate records and resolve issues promptly. Your work will have a direct impact on employee satisfaction and the integrity of payroll reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including starters, leavers, changes to contracts, and personal details.
- Calculate and apply UK PAYE, NI, statutory deductions, and statutory payments (e.g. SMP, SPP, SSP).
- Reconcile payroll reports and perform checks to identify and correct discrepancies before final submission.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related returns and reports to HMRC and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to payroll queries
Requirements:
- Previous experience in payroll or a similar finance role
- Good understanding of UK payroll processes and legislation
- Experience with payroll systems and strong Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional and discreet with confidential information
