Senior Accounts Assistant (3-Month FTC)
Loughborough | Hybrid (3 Days Office) | Up to £16 per hour
Macildowie are working with a well-established and highly reputable organisation to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with strong potential for extension.
This opportunity sits within a structured and controls-driven finance function, making it ideal for someone with strong transactional experience who is confident working with accuracy, compliance, and high-volume data.

The Role
This is a hands-on transactional role with a strong focus on accuracy, reconciliation, and maintaining robust financial controls.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Full ownership of bank reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of variances
- Processing and posting high volumes of financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
- Managing supplier payments, including preparation and execution of payment runs
- Completing supplier account reconciliations and handling queries through to resolution
- Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and reporting support
- Maintaining detailed and accurate Excel-based reconciliations and control sheets
- Assisting with cash allocation and postings
- Supporting internal stakeholders and ensuring a high level of service across the business
- Ensuring adherence to financial controls, policies, and regulatory requirements
About You
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a structured finance environment.
You will have:
- Strong transactional finance experience across areas such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and payments
- Experience working in a high-volume, process-driven environment
- Experience using Sage (essential)
- Strong Excel skills (including reconciliations, lookups, and data handling)
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
Desirable (not essential):
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Previous experience within a regulated or financial services environment
