Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Fully Office Based)
Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected employer to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking for a varied role that combines end-to-end payroll responsibilities with wider finance and accounts support. Working within a friendly and close-knit team, you'll play a key role in ensuring payroll is delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with current legislation.
The Role
As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. You'll maintain payroll systems, safeguard sensitive employee data and generate detailed reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, can manage multiple priorities and takes pride in delivering a high level of service to colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports for management, finance and audit purposes.
- Generate statutory reports for HMRC and pension providers.
- Complete monthly payroll audits and assist with year-end reporting, including P60s and P11Ds.
- Validate timesheets, overtime payments, bonuses and deductions.
- Process salary amendments and payroll adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, GDPR and data protection regulations.
- Administer payroll and workforce management systems.
- Provide support and guidance to managers on payroll processes and system usage.
- Support wider finance and accounts administration activities where required.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience within a payroll administration role.
- Experience processing payroll from start to finish.
- Previous accounts or finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience working with payroll and HR systems.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain focused and organised within a busy working environment.
Desirable
- Bookkeeping experience.
- Experience using People XD or similar payroll software.
